How It All Started
It all began with a single spark of inspiration ignited by the FuelEU Maritime regulation. As the industry grappled to make head and tail of the new compliance environment and its economics, the first AHTI Calculator was conceived. The mission was simple: to make shipping's green transition affordable by optimizing emission compliance costs. But the implementation…not as easy, considering the nth number of variables and uncertainities.
An expert team of emission warriors came together to leverage digital technologies and data science, build a tool that would streamline processes, optimize fuel consumption, and enhance the overall efficiency of the maritime supply chain. Today, AHTI Climate continues to write its story, turning regulatory challenges into opportunities for the whole maritime logistic ecosystem, one voyage at a time.
What does AHTI mean?
In Finnish mythology, Kalevala, Ahti is a prominent sea god. As a guardian of the waters, Ahti was historically asked for a safe journey at sea. In Kalevala, Ahti was also a fierce seagoing warrior.
